Wilderness Resort officials announced today that they are making some noteworthy changes to their award-winning, championship, 18-hole Wild Rock Golf Club for the 2025 season.
According to Pat Stein, Wild Rock Director of Golf, "Golfers visiting Wild Rock this season are in for a real treat. In March and April 2025, we will be undergoing a major bunker refurbishment to provide guests with the best possible playing conditions."
This will include removing the existing sand in the bunkers and replacing current bunker liners with a Capillaryflow bunker liner system, returning the bunkers back to their original design and replacing the sand with Fredonia Bunker Sand.
The resort will be working with the pros at Wadsworth Golf Construction Company out of Plainfield, IL to complete this project. Wadsworth has an impressive track record overseeing the construction for TPC Wisconsin, the construction and remodeling of University Ridge and the restoration of Torrey Pines in California.
Stein adds that there should only be minimal disruption from the project in April. During this time 9 holes will be available for play Monday-Thursday with the full course open Friday-Sunday. The entire project should be completed by the first week of May.
Other planned improvements for 2025 season include getting a new fleet of club car golf cars with 10-inch screens running an enhanced Tagmarshall GPS System.
