Erin Hills has grown into a complete experience for the avid golfer.
Since opening in 2006, it has hosted a number of prestigious national championships (including the 2017 U.S. Open and 2011 U.S. Amateur).
The highly-rated 652-acre course has also recently added a number of amenities that complement its challenging course and comfortable accommodations.
Erin Hills has become a highly-decorated course, with accolades that include spots on the Golf Digest rankings of America’s 100 Greatest Courses (No. 42) and America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses (No. 9).
It’s now listed as a Top 25 Buddies’ Trip destination by Golf Magazine. Designed by Michael Hurzdan, Dana Fry and Ron Whitten, Erin Hills was routed over rolling, sometimes dramatic, terrain left by glaciers thousands of years ago. The course offers great flexibility, playing as short as 5,082 yards or as long as 7,735 yards.
The fairways provide a fast and firm playing surface that puts the natural undulations of the property on full display. Freeform bunkers protect greens located in natural settings.
As the course is walking only, the golf is played in a traditional atmosphere with no artificial distractions. Professional caddies are available and highly recommended. The Lodge is a charming Irish country inn with comfortable rooms and suites, and the clubhouse offers fine dining and expansive, panoramic views.
Five four-bedroom/four-bathroom cottages complement an upscale menu of on-site accommodations.
A blend of old and new elements, Erin Hills makes for a remarkable golf experience.
